Our Daily Bread 3 March 2018 Devotional – Precious to God

Topic: Precious to God [Our Daily Bread 3 Saturday March, 2018]
Read: Genesis 1:26–31, Bible in a Year: Numbers 28–30; Mark 8:22–38

Topic: Quality Prayer [Andrew Wommack’s Daily Saturday March 3rd, 2018]

Topic: [Quality Prayer]
Matthew 6:7, “But when ye pray, use not vain repetitions, as the heathen [do]: for they think that they shall be heard for their much speaking.”
Text: Matthew 6:5-8
Some of the most effective prayers are the shortest prayers. Jesus said, “Peace, be still,” and the wind and the waves ceased (Mk. 4:39). He said, “Lazarus, come forth,” and Lazarus came back from the dead (Jn. 11:43-44).
Today, there is a new emphasis on the quantity of prayer instead of the quality of prayer. Jesus never advocated long prayers, and there are only a few instances where Jesus prayed long prayers. This is not to say that communion with God is not important. It certainly is, but formal prayer is only one part of our communion with the Lord.
Psalm 5:1-2 uses the words “prayer” and “meditation” interchangeably. Therefore, communing with God through keeping your mind stayed on the things of the Lord is also prayer. There are also times in prayer when we need to be still and know that God is God (Ps. 46:10).
Many times we ask the Lord to speak to us, but He can’t get a word in “edge-wise.” We’re doing all the talking.

Topic: The Best Way to Deal with Money [Joyce Meyer’s Daily Saturday March 3rd, 2018]

Topic: [The Best Way to Deal with Money]
This [day in which God has saved me] is the day which the LORD has made; Let us rejoice and be glad in it. — Psalm 118:24
I’ve discovered the best way to deal with money is to give it away. And we need to keep on giving, especially during challenging financial times. This is a key factor in helping us maintain a biblical focus on our finances.
It’s always possible to live by God’s financial principles, even in difficult times. You might find yourself in what seems like an impossible financial situation and feel like you’re in no position to give, but don’t let that stop you. God will help you when you simply work with what you have.
Luke 19:17 tells us that God is pleased when we are faithful and trustworthy in very little things. When we are, it says He will give us authority over bigger things.
Proverbs 28:27 says, He who gives to the poor will not want…. If we obey God with our finances, even when we don’t have much, and give to help other people, God will provide what we need. It’s just that simple. Choose to be a giver today, and you will not lack anything.
Prayer Starter: God, I choose today to give my finances to You. Even in hard times, I know Your financial principles still apply and You will take care of me. You are my Source!
